How I helped my sister with a Short Sale

A few years ago my sister was unable to pay her mortgage and ask for my help. We sat down and looked at situation. She had tried a mortgage modification program and that only reduced the monthly payment by $200. She needed to get out of that house. We started a Short Sale, listed the property, called the 2 lenders and began the work to find a buyer. It took a tootal of 8 months, but we sold the home. She is 1 year pass the Short Sale and working to save money and decide where she wants to buy another home next year.
